In 2023, Tennessee will reassess commercial real estate properties in 18 counties across the state. For many of these counties, this is the first reassessment since before the COVID-19 pandemic, and values will stay in place for an average of five years.
The local experts at Ryan expect reassessment notices to be mailed as early as April. Clients receiving a notice are encouraged to contact us immediately. The timeframe to file an informal appeal is often very limited; informal appeal windows last a few days to one week immediately following release of notices. Formal appeal deadlines are expected to fall around June 1.
