The clock is ticking for you to take care of a state requirement that often slips the mind of many. In Utah, assessors in each county are responsible for valuing all property by January 1 of each year. Property owners have the right to appeal property valuations every year but only have a limited time to do so. The process for appealing an assessment begins with filing an application for review of valuation with the county assessor by September 15, 2023.
To remain competitive in the market, it’s more important than ever to review your property tax assessment notice. Many owners will be caught off guard when receiving their property tax bills this summer after the window to protest has already closed.
The experts at Ryan have been monitoring the Utah appeal process over the years and have extensive knowledge and experience in assisting property owners with their appeals all over the state of Utah. Don’t risk an increase in your 2023 property taxes. We urge you to reach out to one of our local team members as soon as you receive your notice in the mail to prepare for the upcoming appeal deadline.
