Commercial Property Owners Should Prepare for the 2023 Massachusetts Appeal Deadline to Reduce Costs
The Massachusetts 2023 appeal window is fast approaching for commercial property owners. New values will be issued in December, and ensuring correct valuation is critical as increases are expected for many taxpayers. Quarterly jurisdictions will issue third quarter tax bills in late December, that will reflect a NEW assessment value and a NEW tax rate.
Assessors will be using 2021 data to calculate property values in accordance with the state’s January 1, 2022 lien date.
You will have an opportunity to challenge your new assessment, but you must do so by the February 1, 2023 deadline.
